Chapter 0ne

Starting off correctly

If you start off any partnership correctly you will certainly have a much greater chance of succeeding.
Lay all your cards on the table. Tell your partner what you expect and what you want out of the partnership.
Ask them what they expect and want out of the partnership .
You are both better off to know upfront rather than a few weeks or months or even years down the track.
Once you both know what you want and need out of the partnership it is time to start planning the best way to achieve it.
This includes the safest way as well as making sure everything you do is legal and complies with all the laws etc.
I will put various suggestion forward but do not take them as legal advice as I am not a lawyer. Always refer to your accountant, lawyer and financial planner for the final advice. If you can afford it, it is worthwhile to get the opinion of two independent professionals so as to make sure they are on the right track and you feel comfortable with what they suggest you do. I also suggest you put my ideas to the various professionals and take note of the reactions you receive.
